Michel Arrignon


Michel Arrignon studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and at University of Michigan, and at the age of 20 was invited by Erich Leinsdorf to perform with the World Youth Orchestra. Having won a second prize in the Geneva International Competition, his career took off in 1972, touring the USA, USSR, Japan, Australia, South America and Europe.

In 1976 he began a collaboration with Pierre Boulez and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, helping to premiere new works by Berio and Stockhausen, among others. He has also worked extensively with the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris and the Orchestre National de Bourdeaux Aquitaine, and has worked with such distinguished conductors as Mackerras, Mehta, Böhm and Ozawa. Michel Arrignon also teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris
